ForaGin – Foraging & Gin Making 6/1
ForaGin Re-distillation
Join this combination workshop of foraging and gin re-distillation using foraged items from our walk, combine these with other flavours to make your own designer bottle of gin to take away. Discover the gin making formula, use a traditional alembic still and best of all sample some Gin!
Price & Booking:
Introductory price of 140€ per couple. Stills are shared one still per two people. So, bring a partner or friend on the experience with you! As a couple you will share a still and equipment.
If you can get a group of four people together you can arrange a bespoke workshop at a time and date to be negotiated. Please contact us with your enquiry.
The workshop will go ahead outdoors in all but the most extreme weather. We will also make use of our barn in colder weather. Please dress appropriately for the weather. You will be offered an alternative date in event of a cancellation.
Itinerary:
- Start time 1pm
- Introductions and expectations for the day.
- A quick look at foraging law, tools, environmental variables etc.
- A professional guided walk on foraging in the local countryside (this should last around an hour – an hour and a half.)
- Back to base to look at the stills and equipment we will be using.
- An explanation of redistilling gin using a traditional copper alembic still.
- You then have the time to make your own designer gin from an array of ingredients.
- While making your own gin sample some homemade gin.
- Leave with your own custom bottle of gin gift!

Location:
Le Petit verger (the little orchard) entrance is located on Chemin du Moulin in the village of Bonnes 16390, France. From the Church in the center of the village head towards the bridge, do not cross the bridge, instead continue onto chemin du moulin (Mill track). The entrance is the first right turn on the chemin. There will be a sign attached to a large tree on your right.
Parking:
There are spaces around the village, however it is easiest if you park at the Mairie and walk to the start point.
Clarity & Law:
You must be over 18 to attend this workshop. The distillation of alcohol is a highly regulated and taxed business. We will be redistilling a base spirit with botanicals to produce gin in a traditional method. All tax has been paid on the spirit.
